GUIDING YOUR LEGAL JOURNEY
Taylor King-Buerk’s Bio:
I was born and raised in a small, no name town in Southern Illinois. I graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2017. A few months later, my now husband and I moved to Birmingham, Alabama so I could attend Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.
I have always dreamt of being a lawyer. For me, it’s personal. In 2014, I sat in a courtroom and listened to a Judge sentence my brother to eight years in prison. That was the WORST day of my life. But, because of that experience, I strive to help people fight for their freedom on a daily basis.
In 2020, I graduated from Cumberland School of Law, passed the bar exam, and began my legal career in Albertville, Alabama. I was lucky enough to start out working alongside a well-respected attorney who had been practicing law for thirty years. I learned a great deal from him and had the pleasure of becoming his law partner in 2022.
Now, I have the privilege of running my own law firm. I am beyond thankful I get to wake up every day and do this job.
In addition to Criminal Defense, I represent: parents fighting the Department of Human Resources for their children, children in Juvenile Delinquency cases; and people involved in divorce and child custody litigation. I am also a certified Guardian ad Litem, which is an attorney the court appoints to represent and protect the best interests of a child and to be the child’s voice.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son, and our “mini zoo” which consists of two cats (Manning and Paco) and two dogs (Aspen and Oakley). I also enjoy sinking my RZR in mudholes, hiking and impulse buying items on Amazon.
Thank you for stopping by! Please let me know how I can be of service to you.
